Sachin Malik Busan: India left a deep spiritual and historical imprint at the Prestigious four-day Busan International Buddhism Expo 2026, held in the South Korean city of Busan. The Embassy of India in South Korea actively Participated in the Global cultural Gathering, held at the BEXCO Convention Center.
Amid the expo central theme, “Emptiness and Modern Life,” the Indian Pavilion Presented a special and Grand Exhibition titled “From Gaya to Gyeongju: India-Korea Friendship through Buddha Dhamma,” Which remained one of the major attractions of the Event.
Sharing Photographs of the exhibition on ‘X’, the Embassy of India in South Korea described it as a Journey of Shared Buddhist heritage “from Gaya to Gyeongju.” The Embassy said it Participated in the Busan International Buddhism Expo 2026 and Showcased “From Gaya to Gyeongju: India-Korea Friendship through Buddha Dhamma.”
From India sacred Buddhist circuit to centuries-old civilizational ties, the exhibition brought India rich Buddhist heritage Closer to Korean audiences and Generated Greater interest in learning about India, the birthplace of Buddhism.
The Primary objective of the exhibition was to highlight India sacred “Buddhist Circuit” as well as the centuries-old civilizational, cultural and diplomatic connections between the two countries. The exhibition Showcased the historical Journey from Gaya, the ancient Gaya confederacy of Korea, Which is traditionally associated with Ayodhya, to Gyeongju, the spiritual and historic heartland of South Korea and the centre of the ancient Silla Dynasty.
Through this Presentation, the exhibition conveyed the message of how Buddha Dhamma has connected the hearts of India and Korea for thousands of Years.
From a cultural Perspective, the event Generated considerable enthusiasm among Korean citizens and international visitors to explore India Buddhist Pilgrimage sites and experience “spiritual India.” Young visitors and Buddhist monks attending the expo Gained a Closer understanding of India ancient meditation traditions, art and historic diplomatic links with Korea.
