Uttar Pradesh Urban Development and Energy Minister A.K Sharma inspected various camps organized under the Electricity Bill Relief Scheme during his visit to Mau. He visited camps set up in Bindtoliya, Suggi Chaura, Gaziyapur, Dumri and Maryadpur, reviewed the arrangements and issued necessary instructions to the concerned officials.
During the inspection of the camp in Bindtoliya, Minister Sharma clearly directed that any discrepancies in consumers electricity bills should be immediately corrected to ensure they receive the benefits of the scheme. He also instructed officials to organize joint camps to Provide benefits of other public welfare schemes.
Additionally, he directed concerned authorities to ensure that families affected by river erosion receive benefits under housing schemes.
At the Suggi Chaura camp, a consumer from Bhairopur received major relief when his 16-year-old electricity bill of ₹2.15 lakh was settled for only ₹28,000. On receiving a waiver of ₹1.87 lakh, the consumer expressed gratitude to the Energy Minister. Similarly, during the inspection of the Dumri camp, another consumer electricity bill of ₹3.23 lakh was adjusted and settled for ₹1.06 lakh, after which the consumer Praised the welfare-oriented scheme and thanked Minister A.K. Sharma.
The minister also inspected camps in Gaziyapur and Maryadpur and appealed to the Public to take maximum advantage of the Electricity Bill Relief Scheme. He said the objective of the state government is to Provide relief to the general Public and ensure that no consumer faces injustice.
