New Delhi : Bengaluru’s Kempegowda International Airport and Thiruvananthapuram International Airport on Tuesday advised passengers to arrive well in advance amid tightened security checks following a car explosion near Delhi’s Red Fort that killed 10 people and damaged multiple vehicles.
In an advisory posted on its X account, Kempegowda airport said all flyers should “plan their travel and arrive at BLR airport well in advance” due to heightened security at airports across the country.
“We appreciate your cooperation and understanding as we work together to keep your travel safe and seamless,” the advisory said.
Thiruvananthapuram International Airport also announced stricter screening protocols for departing passengers and advised flyers to reach ahead of scheduled departure and cooperate with security personnel, stressing that passenger and staff safety remains its top priority.
The blast occurred when a slow-moving car, identified as a Hyundai i20, halted at a traffic signal near the Red Fort metro station before exploding, sparking fires in nearby vehicles and sending debris flying across the crowded area.
