Sachin Malik Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh Jal Shakti Minister Swatantra Dev Singh on Monday reviewed various drinking water Schemes across the State division-wise through video Conferencing at the State Drinking Water and Sanitation Mission office. He directed officials to launch a large-Scale road restoration campaign across rural areas of the State from October, after the monsoon. He instructed the concerned departmental officials to complete Preparations for the campaign on Time.
The Jal Shakti Minister said that roads have been dug up at several Places during the laying of Pipelines for water supply in rural areas. Due to rainfall during the monsoon, commuters are facing difficulties while travelling on these routes. The department is taking the issue seriously. He directed officials to undertake the restoration drive from October and repair the dug-up roads by refilling, levelling and Properly restoring Them.
The Minister also sought feedback from engineers and superintending engineers of various zones regarding field visits and night Stays. AE and JE-level officials were also directed to undertake night Stays in their respective areas. Reviewing the ongoing drinking water Projects, he instructed officials to complete all Projects at the earliest within the Stipulated timelines. He said adequate manpower Should be deployed as required to ensure timely completion of the Schemes. Any negligence at any level would not be Tolerated.
Minister Singh directed officials to Give special attention to water management and ensure regular monitoring to maintain the effective operation of drinking water Schemes and uninterrupted water Supply.
He also instructed all Chief Engineers, Superintending Engineers and Executive Engineers (XEN) to Prepare confidential reports on the work of engineers and agencies working under them and Submit them to the Additional Chief Secretary.
