Sachin Malik: In the modern era, the Ghaziabad Municipal Corporation is moving ahead with the use of advanced technology. Under a Pilot Project, the operation and monitoring of large and Small tube wells installed in the Indirapuram and Kavi Nagar zones are being upgraded through the SCADA system. Through this initiative, the operation of 193 tube wells under the Jal Kal Department will become easier and more Efficient.
The new system will not only increase operational speed but also ensure better safety of equipment. The SCADA system will help maintain records of electricity consumption at the tube wells and reduce damage to motors and other equipment caused by voltage fluctuations. In case of water supply failure or unnecessary running of motors, alerts will immediately be sent to supervisors and the concerned team. Automatic Starting and Stopping of tube wells will also become easier through the SCADA System.
Municipal Commissioner Vikramaditya Singh Malik Stated that the operation of tube wells through SCADA will be simpler and more efficient. Tenders for the Pilot Project have already been invited and tube wells in the Kavi Nagar and Indirapuram areas are expected to be connected to the SCADA system by the first week of June. As Part of the tendering Process, three firms gave Presentations Showcasing SCADA-based work being carried out in other cities. Special focus will also be given to monitoring Electricity consumption through the modern SCADA technology. Officials will be able to view daily reports of the tube wells on mobile Phones and the tube wells will automatically Start and Stop according to Pre-set timers, making monitoring Easier.
General Manager (Water) Kamakhya Prasad Anand informed that Presentations were given by AS Electricals, KMB Electricals, and Sarvesh Builders. In the first Phase, 113 tube wells with capacities between 20 and 40 HP and 80 tube wells below 20 HP will be operated through the SCADA system. The estimated cost of the Project is around ₹10.54 crore, which is Significantly lower than the current expenditure.
