Sachin Malik: Uttar Pradesh Urban Development and Energy Minister, A.K. Sharma, has announced an important decision Providing major Relief to Electricity consumers in the State, especially those with low-load domestic Connections.
He directed that Consumers with Electricity connections up to 1 Kilowatt will not have their supply disconnected for 30 days, even if their balance turns Negative. This Provision has been implemented to ease the burden on Consumers.
He Clarified that even in the case of a negative balance, the connection will not be disconnected before the completion of a full billing cycle (one month) under any circumstances. Additionally, to ensure transparency and consumer convenience, five mandatory SMS alerts will be sent before any disconnection, giving consumers Sufficient time to make Payments.
In the same initiative, relief has also been extended to consumers with 2 kilowatt connections. Their electricity supply will not be disconnected if the negative balance is up to ₹200. A five-stage SMS alert system has also been introduced for them to Prevent Inconvenience.
Considering the rising heat, Minister Sharma has instructed officials in all districts to accelerate electricity maintenance work. He Stated that large-scale efforts have been undertaken to Strengthen Power supply in the State. So far, around 3 million (30 lakh) new Electricity Poles have been installed, and transformer capacity has been Significantly Increased.
The minister expressed confidence that Uttar Pradesh has emerged as the State with the highest electricity supply in the country. He assured that during the intense summer, the Public will not face any Electricity-related issues, and the government remains fully committed to ensuring uninterrupted and Quality Power Supply.
