New Delhi: Yashasvi Jaiswal slammed a fiery fifty to help Rajasthan Royals (RR) hand Punjab Kings (PBKS) their first defeat in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026. After Vaibhav Sooryavanshi departed for a 16-ball 43-run knock, Jaiswal took charge in the innings slamming a fiery fifty.
In his 27-ball 51-run knock, the left-handed batter slammed 7 boundaries and 1 six pushing the Punjab bowlers against the wall. En route his brilliant innings, Jaiswal scripted a big record for the Royals franchise in the IPL history. He joined an elite list of players with most 50-plus scores in IPL for one-time winners Rajasthan.
The half-century in the 40th match of the 19th edition was his 20th fifty for Rajasthan Royals as he joined the elusive list headed by Jos Buttler with 25 fifties. Sanju Samson, now playing for Chennai Super Kings (CSK), is also on the list with 25 half-tons while Ajinkya Rahane and Shane Watson also feature 19 and 16 half-tons respectively.

Meanwhile, Rajasthan Royals defeated Punjab Kings by six wickets in their Indian Premier League match to hand them their first loss. Invited to bat, opener Prabhsimran Singh scored 59 up front while Marcus Stoinis provided the final flourish with an unbeaten 62 off 22 balls as Punjab Kings posted 222 for 4.
The Royals then put up a collective batting effort to overhaul the target with four balls to spare. Earlier, leg spinner Yash Punja picked up two wickets for the visitors while Jofra Archer also claimed a wicket.
