Quick look at the vote percentage in 4 states and 1 UT
While West Bengal’s electoral journey has just wrapped up, several other states and a Union Territory had already completed their voting last week, each recording robust participation:

West Bengal (Phase 1): The initial phase of voting across 152 constituencies saw a strong turnout, with nearly 93% participation in many regions, indicating high voter engagement.

Tamil Nadu: The southern state registered a final provisional voter turnout of 85.1%, a figure slightly adjusted from initial estimates but still indicative of significant public involvement.

Assam: Polling for all 126 assembly seats in Assam concluded with a remarkable 85.5% turnout. This participation was notably high across both rural and urban areas, marking a historic election for the state.

Kerala: The 140 constituencies in Kerala witnessed a steady voter turnout, hovering between 75% and 78%. This suggests consistent engagement in what was widely predicted to be a closely contested election.

Puducherry: The Union Territory set a new benchmark with an astounding voter turnout of 89.87%. According to final EC figures, this represents the highest polling percentage recorded in Puducherry since its merger with India and its inaugural Assembly election in 1964.
