Sharma conducted an On-Ground inspection of various areas of the State capital amid continuous rainfall and reviewed the Situation of waterlogging and drainage. He inspected areas including Janeshwar Mishra Park, the underbridge near Ambedkar Memorial Park, C-Block in Indira Nagar, Rahim Nagar and Mahanagar and issued necessary directions to officials regarding the drainage system. Minister Sharma Clearly instructed officials to remain on alert mode during the rainfall and ensure immediate action Wherever waterlogging Occurs.
Minister A.K. Sharma inspected Janeshwar Mishra Park and the underbridge located near Ambedkar Memorial Park. He reviewed the waterlogging Situation during the rainfall and expressed Satisfaction that no water had accumulated in the underbridge. He directed Municipal Commissioner Gaurav Kumar to identify all underpasses and underbridges in the capital, review their drainage systems and ensure Permanent arrangements to Prevent waterlogging in the Future.
After this, Minister Sharma reached C-Block in Indira Nagar and inspected the drain and drainage arrangements. He also interacted with local residents and sought information about the waterlogging Situation during the rainfall. Local residents informed him that the construction of the drain had Prevented waterlogging in the area this Year. The residents expressed their Gratitude to Minister A.K. Sharma for improving the drainage Arrangements.
Minister Sharma also inspected drains in the Rahim Nagar and Mahanagar areas and directed officials to further improve the drainage System. He instructed officials to continuously monitor different areas during rainfall. Wherever waterlogging occurs, immediate measures such as Pumping, Cleaning and drainage Should be undertaken. He directed the Municipal Commissioner to identify all low-lying areas of the capital and Prepare an effective action Plan for a Permanent Solution to the Problem of Waterlogging.
During the inspection, Minister A.K. Sharma said that despite rainfall over two to three consecutive days, Which was among the highest recorded in Lucknow in the Past 20 Years, the City did not experience a severe waterlogging Situation this Year due to the drainage-related works undertaken in recent Years. He said that areas such as Faizullaganj, the Assembly Premises and the vicinity of Civil Hospital had Previously faced waterlogging during the monsoon season, but the work carried out in recent Years to Strengthen the drainage System has Produced Positive Results.
He directed officials to Give Priority to finding Permanent solutions to waterlogging Problems. Rather than limiting efforts to Pumping out water during rainfall, officials Should review the capacity of drains, drainage routes, Pumping arrangements and other necessary technical measures in Vulnerable areas so that residents can continue to receive relief from waterlogging in the future.
Minister Sharma said that to ensure that citizens do not face any inconvenience during rainfall, officials of the Municipal Corporation and other concerned departments should work in coordination. Special monitoring Should be maintained in vulnerable areas and teams and resources Should be deployed immediately whenever Required.
