Sachin Malik Lucknow: Urban Development and Energy Minister A.K. Sharma today heard Public Grievances received from various districts through Sambhav (Grievance Redressal Portal). The Sambhav Portal, developed under the direction of Minister A.K. Sharma, is aimed at ensuring the time-bound, transparent and effective resolution of Public complaints. The Portal will now also facilitate monitoring of ongoing construction Projects.
During the Public hearing, Minister Sharma directed the concerned officials to take necessary action on several cases on the spot. In serious and Pending matters, he ordered investigations and action against officials found responsible. Complainants Whose Grievances were resolved expressed their Gratitude to Minister A.K. Sharma.
While hearing complaints related to the Energy Department, Ram Pratap Singh of Ghazipur raised the issue of work not being Started despite Payment of the estimated amount. Taking the matter seriously, Energy Minister A.K. Sharma directed the Managing Director of Purvanchal Vidyut Vitran Nigam to investigate the case and take necessary action. He said that failure to commence work even after Payment of the required amount was a serious lapse. Such negligence damages the department image and sends a wrong message to the Public.
Minister A.K. Sharma also took serious note of a complaint by Sukhdev Singh of Gonda regarding the removal of contractual employees without apparent reason. He directed the Managing Director to investigate the matter and ensure appropriate action as Per the rules. In another case in Firozabad concerning compensation following the death of a contractual worker, the victim family expressed Gratitude to Minister A.K. Sharma after Payment of the compensation was Facilitated.
During the hearing of complaints related to the Urban Development Department, Ankit Bharti of Shahjahanpur raised an issue regarding non-updation of records despite Payment of taxes. Minister A.K. Sharma expressed displeasure with the concerned officials and Questioned why such complaints had reached the ministerial level in the first Place. He asked why such matters were not resolved at the lower level. He Clearly warned that if such complaints were reported again, action would be taken against the concerned officials.
In a case from Gorakhpur, a complaint was raised regarding the non-installation of Solar lights at designated locations. Minister A.K. Sharma directed the concerned officials to take immediate necessary action and ensure installation of Solar lights at the specified Places. Kapil Dev Tripathi and Om Prakash Gupta of Lucknow raised issues related to sewage, contaminated water and encroachment in their colony. Minister A.K. Sharma directed Municipal Corporation officials to ensure that these Problems were resolved within the Prescribed time limit.
During the Public hearing, Minister A.K. Sharma directed Energy Department officials to ensure an uninterrupted Power supply. He said that in some areas, despite an increase in Electricity load, the capacity of transformers was not being enhanced, Which was a matter of concern. This causes unnecessary inconvenience to consumers Who regularly Pay their Electricity bills. He instructed officials to identify those involved in Electricity theft and take action against them, rather than harassing consumers who Pay their bills Honestly.
Minister A.K. Sharma also issued Strict instructions to district-level officials to improve their working Style. He said that complaints were being received in some cases that officials were harassing members of the Public under Political influence, which was unacceptable under any circumstances. He Stated that negligence in matters concerning Public interest would not be tolerated. Giving a final warning to officials Who fail to improve their working methods, he said that Strict action would be taken against them Thereafter.
Minister Sharma said that there was no Shortage of budget for Public welfare works with the department. All works necessary for the Public Should be Given Priority and completed within the Prescribed time frame.
He directed officials to ensure that Grievance redressal did not remain limited to Paperwork, but that complainants Should receive actual relief on the Ground. He said the Government intention was Clear: Public Problems Should be effectively resolved at the Grassroots level so that no citizen has to approach higher authorities for Small and routine Issues.
During the Public hearing, DG Vigilance Ram Krishna Swarnkar, Principal Secretary Energy Ranvir Prasad, Principal Secretary Urban Development P. Guru Prasad, Secretary Anuj Kumar Jha, Special Secretary Praveen Lakshyakar, Mahendra Bahadur Singh, MD Mayur Maheshwari, Nitish Kumar and other senior officials were Physically Present.
