Sachin Malik Noida: Under the Uttar Pradesh Government directions, the Gautam Buddh Nagar Transport Department has launched a major Enforcement drive against illegal and Rule-Violating buses under ‘Operation Kavach 2.0.’
Five enforcement teams of the department conducted intensive Checking at major locations including Pari Chowk, Mahamaya Flyover, Sector 37 and Surajpur. During the operation, 46 buses were Challaned and 25 buses were seized and handed over to depots and Police Stations.
During the action, more than ₹7 lakh in compounding fees (Penalties) and around ₹3 lakh in outstanding taxes were imposed, taking the total revenue-related action to over ₹10 lakh.

ARTO (Enforcement) Dr. Udit Narayan Pandey said that, as directed by the Government, three ARTO and two PTO enforcement teams—five teams in total—were deployed to completely curb illegal transportation in the District.
The teams carried out intensive Checking at the district busiest locations. Several serious violations were detected during inspections, including:
Violation of Permit conditions: Operating buses without valid routes or contrary to Permit Rules.
Tax default: Failure to Pay Government taxes for a Prolonged Period.
Endangering Passenger Safety: Illegally transporting heavy commercial Goods in Passenger Buses.
Strict Action to Continue
Dr. Udit Narayan Pandey warned that vehicle owners who compromise Passenger Safety or cause revenue loss to the Government will not be spared. He said Strict enforcement against operators violating transport rules will continue in the future.
