Sachin Malik: Uttar Pradesh Senior Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader and Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh on Thursday made sensational allegations against the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)- Which he referred to as the “ED Party”- and Champat Rai, General Secretary of the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust. Presenting What he described as official Government and land registry documents, Singh alleged that the biggest-ever “donation Scam” in the name of Lord Ram temple construction had taken Place.
₹9 Crore Land Purchased for ₹55.47 Crore- “A Robbery of Faith”.
Addressing a Press conference, Sanjay Singh Said, “A massive Scam involving donations made by devotees for Lord Ram temple has been uncovered. The documents in my Possession expose What appears to be the biggest donation fraud so far. Champat Rai Purchased 117 biswa (14,730 sq.m.) of land in Shahnewazpur Majha from Alok Bansal, Manish Bansal and Shivani Bansal for ₹55.47 Crore, Whereas the actual value of the land was merely around ₹9 Crore.”
He further recalled earlier land deals in which land allegedly worth ₹2 crore was Purchased for ₹18.5 crore within five minutes, causing an alleged loss of ₹16.5 crore and another Property valued at ₹3 crore was allegedly bought for ₹24 Crore.
Farmers Paid Pennies, Traders Paid Crores– “What Is the Mathematics Behind This?”.
Explaining What he termed the Chronology of the alleged corruption, Singh Claimed that the Uttar Pradesh Government and the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Trust acquired nearly 3500 biswa of land from farmers in Majha Barhata Village, Close to the temple site, at approximately ₹4.40 lakh Per Biswa.
However, he alleged that land Situated much farther away in Shahnewazpur was Purchased from traders at ₹47 lakh Per biswa using devotees’ Donations.
“The land Closest to the temple fetched farmers only ₹4.40 lakh Per biswa, While land farther away was Purchased at ₹47 lakh Per biswa. Land Purchased in 2023 was valued at Sky-high Prices, While land acquired from farmers in 2024 was valued at Rock-bottom Rates. Who benefited from this huge difference and Why has there been no investigation?” Singh Asked.

Targeting Prime Minister Narendra Modi and RSS Chief Mohan Bhagwat, Sanjay Singh said, “The donations made by millions of Lord Ram devotees are allegedly being looted in broad daylight, Yet the leadership remains Silent. If You truly consider Yourselves devotees of Lord Ram, Why are you not speaking out? My demand is that the Prime Minister build a toll-free expressway from Ayodhya to Nagpur so that the temple donations can be transported directly There.”
Demand for Supreme Court-Monitored SIT Probe.
Responding to remarks made by Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, Singh Stated that he would officially Submit all documentary evidence to the Special Investigation Team (SIT).
However, he alleged that former bureaucrat Nripendra Mishra reported Clean Chit to Champat Rai before any investigation had concluded indicated an attempt to Shield those Involved.
Singh further alleged that from 2020 to 2024, bureaucrat Gyanesh Kumar served as the Prime Minister representative on the Trust and was responsible for overseeing land transactions and administrative Coordination.
He demanded a time-bound investigation under the supervision of the Supreme Court, calling for the immediate registration of criminal cases and the arrest of all those allegedly Involved, Including Champat Rai.
Sanjay Singh also Stated that he had formally sent complaints through his official email to the Uttar Pradesh Director General of Police (DGP), the Ayodhya Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) and the concerned Station House Officer (SHO) Seeking registration of an FIR.
