Sachin Malik: Under the Directions of Municipal Commissioner Vikramaditya Singh Malik, the Ghaziabad Municipal Corporation is undertaking Special measures in view of the increasing heat. Public drinking water kiosks have also been installed at various Public Places. In the same sequence, work is underway to install green nets at traffic signals to Protect commuters and Pedestrians from harsh Sunlight.
Under the Kavi Nagar Zone, green nets have been installed at the Hapur Chungi traffic signal, Providing relief to travelers and Passersby from the Scorching sun. Following the Municipal Commissioner instructions, A 30-meter-long Green net has also been installed at the Navyug Market traffic signal in the City Zone. A Permanent Structure has been erected for this Purpose. Considering the requirement, Plans are also being made to install green nets at other locations.
Chief Engineer (Construction) Narendra Kumar Chaudhary Stated that the Ghaziabad Municipal Corporation Construction department is working to install green nets at traffic signals for vehicle drivers and Pedestrians who have to wait under direct sunlight during extreme heat conditions. After Hapur Chungi, green nets have now been installed at the Navyug Market traffic signal, allowing commuters to wait for the green signal under Shade. Green nets have been installed on both sides of the Navyug Market signal, covering the routes leading to and from Thakurdwara.
A large volume of traffic towards Hapur, Meerut, and Delhi Passes through the Navyug Market traffic Signal. Keeping the need in mind, the work of installing green nets was initiated there. During an inspection, the Municipal Commissioner directed officials to expedite the work, which was completed with immediate effect. The installation of green nets has also made it easier for commuters to follow traffic signals, as vehicle drivers are now comfortably waiting in the Shade while adhering to traffic Rules.
