Minister Sharma said this remarkable Progress, achieved in nearly two and a half Years, is the result of the State Government visionary Policies, transparent and digital Governance, effective implementation, attractive Central and State Subsidies and the Growing Participation of citizens. He added that the success has firmly Positioned Uttar Pradesh among the country leading States in the field of Green Energy.
He informed that the State installed residential rooftop solar capacity has now crossed 2,000 MW, Providing millions of households with Clean, affordable Electricity. The initiative has Significantly reduced Electricity bills, While many consumers are now enjoying free Power. In addition, the Generation of Millions of units of Clean energy every day is helping reduce carbon emissions and accelerate environmental Conservation.
The Minister further Stated that Uttar Pradesh is not only leading in rooftop Solar installations but is also making rapid Progress in Solar module and DCR Panel manufacturing, inverter Production, Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), Peer-to-Peer energy trading, digital energy Platforms, energy consultancy and operations and maintenance Services.
These developments are expected to attract Greater investment, Generate employment opportunities and Strengthen the State Green industrial Ecosystem.
Sharma reiterated that the Government objective is to ensure that every eligible household has access to Clean and affordable energy. Through the PM Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana, the State is Strengthening India vision of energy Self-Reliance, environmental Sustainability and the Goal of a Developed India (Viksit Bharat). He expressed confidence that Uttar Pradesh will emerge as the country leading model in Rooftop Solar and renewable energy in the coming Years.
Highlighting the Scheme impact, the Minister said that more than 700,000 residential rooftop solar systems have already been installed in Uttar Pradesh, taking the State total installed capacity beyond 2,000 MW. The initiative is enabling lakhs of families to benefit from free and affordable Electricity While substantially lowering their Power bills. The daily Generation of millions of units of Clean energy is also contributing Significantly to energy security and reducing carbon emissions by Millions of Tonnes.
Under the Scheme, consumers across the State have received subsidies worth thousands of crores of rupees from both the Central and State Governments, further accelerating the expansion of Green energy and bringing Clean Power to households across Uttar Pradesh.
