State School Education Minister Dr. Dhan Singh Rawat stated that the teaching community had long been demanding 100% participation of teachers in the association general elections. Dr. Rawat said that granting voting rights to all teachers in the association elections is a significant achievement for the teaching community. Dr. Rawat further informed that the state government has also accepted another important demand of teachers. He noted that many teachers are Posted in divisions away from their home districts, such as from Garhwal to Kumaon and vice versa, which makes it difficult for them to visit their homes. Taking this issue into account, a high-level meeting was held with the Finance and Personnel Departments and a decision has been made in the interest of teachers.
