Encroachment Removed from Shivarchan Pond Land
Barabanki: To accelerate the development of the Lodheswar Mahadeva Corridor, the district administration has cleared illegal encroachments from government land around the Shivarchan Pond. On Sunday, for the second consecutive day, bulldozers roared through the area as unauthorized shops and houses were demolished. The move marks a crucial step toward the construction of a 16-meter-wide road, which will enhance the corridor’s infrastructure and accessibility. The action was carried out under the supervision of Joint Magistrate Gunjita Agrawal, following the orders of District Magistrate Shashank Tripathi and in compliance with court directives. Teams from the revenue and police departments jointly executed the operation using five JCB machines, one Pokland excavator, and multiple dumpers to remove the illegal structures completely.According to administrative sources, the Public Works Department (PWD) will now be able to begin construction of the proposed 16-meter-wide road, giving the Lodheswar Corridor a new and more attractive look. The land in question—Gata No. 54—had been illegally occupied by Riyaz Ahmad and 13 others, who had built commercial complexes and shops on it.
Earlier, former Sub-Divisional Magistrate Pawan Kumar had already ordered the removal of these encroachments under Section 133, but the occupants had sought relief from the court. After the court issued its ruling on Friday, the demolition drive began on Saturday and continued till late Sunday evening.
With the illegal constructions now completely removed and debris cleared, the way has been fully paved for the commencement of Lodheswar Corridor’s road construction—a significant milestone in the region’s developmental journey.
