Tribal culture will resonate from Lucknow to Sonbhadra on Tribal Pride Day.
Lucknow: On the occasion of Tribal Pride Day, the 150th birth anniversary of tribal leader Birsa Munda, a grand Tribal Participation Festival will be held at the Indira Gandhi Pratishthan in Gomti Nagar from November 13th to 18th. A meeting was held on Monday at Bhagidari Bhawan in Gomti Nagar to discuss the preparations for this event, jointly with the Social Welfare Department and the Uttar Pradesh Institute of Folk and Tribal Culture. The meeting was chaired by Minister of State for Social Welfare Asim Arun.
Instructions were given to nominate nodal officers and It was decided in the meeting that a special program will be organized in Sonbhadra district on November 15th to mark Tribal Pride Day with Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath in attendance. During the meeting, Social Welfare Minister Asim Arun discussed in detail the outline of various programs to be held at both venues and directed the nodal officers to be nominated.
The six-day festival will be filled with cultural and public participation. The festival will feature tribal folk dance performances from various states, folk songs, traditional craft and cuisine exhibitions, plays based on Birsa Munda, rangoli, painting competitions and tribal sports. A procession will also be organized by artists.
Tribal Culture to Reach the Masses Minister of State Aseem Arun stated that Tribal Pride Week will serve as a powerful medium to disseminate the traditions, culture and contributions of the state tribal community to the masses. He directed officials to conduct the events in a grand and dignified manner with extensive public participation. It is noteworthy that programs are being organized in educational institutions across the state. Minister of State for Social Welfare Sanjeev Kumar Gond, Additional Chief Secretary L. Venkateshwar Lu, Principal Secretary Amrit Abhijat and senior officials from the relevant departments were present at the meeting.
