Uttar Pradesh Urban Development and Energy Minister A.K Sharma, during the motion of thanks on the Governor address in both houses of the legislature today, Presented the state government achievements in detail and strongly criticized the misinformation spread by the opposition.
In his address, he said that India has surpassed Japan to become the world fourth largest economy. This transformation has been made possible under the Prime Minister leadership. Uttar Pradesh has also emerged as a leading state in the country in this development journey.
Referring to the Shivri area of Lucknow, he said that Previous governments had left behind a mountain of 2 million metric tons of garbage, which the current government has reduced to approximately 400,000 metric tons and work is progressing rapidly towards the complete disposal of the remaining Garbage.
Referring to the achievements in the Energy Sector, Minister Sharma said that Uttar Pradesh has consistently ranked first and second in the country in installing solar Power Plants at homes under the PM Suryaghar Yojana. The state also ranks first in biogas Production from farm waste. Uttar Pradesh is leading the country in implementing key Government of India Schemes Such as the RDSS (Distribution Sector), the Green Energy Corridor and the expansion of the transmission sector. He Pointed out that while the thermal generation capacity during the previous government was approximately 5008 MW, it has now increased by 50-60 percent to over 9100 MW.
Minister Sharma said that today, every village and city in the state is being ensured 20-24 hours of electricity supply, as His Excellency the Governor also mentioned in his address. While the peak demand in the past was approximately 13,000 MW, today the state Peak demand during the summer season has reached 31,000 MW, which is being Successfully Met.
Referring to achievements in the field of housing and self-employment, he stated that Uttar Pradesh has become a leader in the country by Providing approximately 1.7 million houses in urban areas and 5.5-5.6 million houses overall. The state also ranks number one in providing economic empowerment to street vendors and small businesses under the PM Svanidhi Yojana.
Rejecting the opposition allegations regarding the reconstruction of Manikarnika Ghat, Minister Sharma said that the myth of the demolition of Ahilyabai Holkar statue is completely baseless and misleading. He recalled that the opposition also falsely attempted to mislead the public during the construction of the Kashi Vishwanath Corridor, but a statue of Rani Ahilyabai Holkar was installed in her honor after the corridor was completed. He said that Manikarnika Ghat is being strengthened to meet future needs and opposing it is opposing development. When Rani Ahilyabai Holkar birth anniversary was celebrated under the Prime Minister leadership, why was the opposition not concerned about her legacy?
Minister Sharma concluded his address by stating that Uttar Pradesh is today setting new standards for good governance, development and Public welfare. The government Priority is to Provide the Public with basic amenities, transparent administration and advance them toward self-reliance and this journey will Continue.
