Sachin Malik: At the “National Review of Swachh Bharat Mission-Urban 2.0” Program held at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi under the Chairmanship of Union Minister Manohar Lal Khattar, Uttar Pradesh Energy and Urban Development Minister A.K. Sharma Participated and Shared information about the innovative initiatives being undertaken in the State in the fields of Cleanliness and urban Development.
He Stated that Uttar Pradesh has achieved remarkable success in urban sanitation. Along with the Scientific disposal of Years-old Garbage dumps, several cities in the State are being developed as “Zero Waste Cities.” Modern technologies are being used to Strengthen solid waste management in urban local Bodies.
Minister Sharma said that lakhs of metric tonnes of legacy waste have been successfully disposed of in the State, making a large amount of land reusable once again. He further informed that the Urban Development Department is rapidly implementing MRF centers, composting units, PPP models and digital monitoring systems.
Emphasizing the concept of “Manhole to Machinehole,” he said that maximum use of modern machines is being ensured in sewer and manhole Cleaning operations so that no worker is required to enter manholes manually. He added that the Safety of human life is the government highest Priority.
During the Program, Uttar Pradesh urban local bodies were appreciated for their financial Progress, sanitation models, legacy waste disposal and technological innovations. Minister Sharma Stated that under the leadership of the Chief Minister, Uttar Pradesh is continuously moving towards Cleaner, Safer and more modern urban Systems.
The meeting was attended by Urban Development Ministers and senior officials from various States.
