Sachin Malik Greater Noida: June 30 is the final date for consumers in Greater Noida to avail a 40% rebate on the interest component of their outstanding water bill dues. After this deadline, the rebate on interest will no longer be available at 40%. Tuesday marks the last opportunity to Claim this benefit. From July 1 to July 31, consumers will be eligible for only a 30% rebate on the interest Amount.
According to Greater Noida Authority Additional Chief Executive Officer (ACEO) Sunil Kumar Singh, the Authority Board approved a One-Time Settlement (OTS) Scheme for a Period of three months. Under the Scheme, defaulters can avail a 40% rebate on the interest component of the total outstanding dues if Payment is made by June 30, a 30% rebate if Paid by July 31 and a 20% rebate if Paid by August 31. The OTS Scheme will automatically expire after August 31.
The total outstanding water bill dues across all categories of allottees Stand at approximately ₹290 crore. This includes around ₹146 crore from builder societies, ₹65 crore from residential allottees, ₹50 crore from institutional allottees, ₹14.61 crore from industrial units, ₹10 crore from residential welfare Societies, while the remaining dues are Pending from IT and commercial Allottees.
It is also noteworthy that, on the initiative of Greater Noida Authority Chief Executive Officer N.G. Ravi Kumar, the Authority Board decided not to increase water tariffs this Year, unlike Previous Years When water Charges were routinely increased by 10% Annually.
