Eye examinations for media professionals using state-of-the-art equipment
Varanasi: An eye care camp was organized on Sunday at the Pararkar Smriti Bhawan by the Varanasi Press Club, operated by the Kashi Journalists’ Association. A team of senior doctors, led by Dr. R.P. Maurya, Head of the Ophthalmology Department at BHU, conducted thorough eye examinations of journalists and their families using state-of-the-art equipment. Inaugurating the camp, Dr. R.P. Maurya said that neglecting timely eye examinations can lead to complex diseases and sometimes even blindness. He emphasized that people with diabetes need to be especially careful. He appealed to everyone to participate in the eye donation campaign by donating their corneas. During the camp, about three dozen people filled out eye donation pledge forms.
Dr. Sanjay Basak, Dr. Asha, Dr. Shivangi Singh, Dr. Shubhangi Gupta, Dr. Prerna Chaudhary, Dr. Shalini Ranjan, Priyanka Singh, Amitesh Chandra, Ashutosh Tripathi, and others from BHU were present at the camp. Arun Mishra President of the Kashi Journalists Association, Jitendra Srivastava, General Secretary and Chandan Rupali, President of the Varanasi Press Club, welcomed the doctors with shawls and mementos. The program was conducted by Vinay Shankar Singh, Secretary of the club. Shankar Chaturvedi was the camp coordinator. A large number of journalists and their families, including former association presidents Pradeep Kumar, Yogesh Gupta, KDN Rai, BB Yadav, Rajnath Tiwari, senior journalists Akhilesh Mishra, Jaiprakash Srivastava, Sushil Kumar Mishra, Pankaj Tripathi, Harish Sharma, Krishna Bahadur Rawat, Devkumar Keshari, Rohit Chaturvedi, Abhishek Singh, Sanjay Gupta, Ravindra Prakash Tripathi, Rajendra Yadav, Vijay Shankar Gupta, and others, were present.
