Bahraich: The indiscriminate use of chemical fertilizers and pesticides has raised concerns among agricultural scientists. They believe that if the use of these chemicals is not controlled in time, its adverse effects could prove extremely dangerous for human health, soil fertility, and the environment.
In light of these challenges, scientists consider IPM (Integrated Pest Management) technology to be the safest and most profitable option for farmers. This technology reduces the damage caused by excessive use of chemicals and protects crops naturally.
The IFFCO team explained that IPM technology focuses on protecting crop-friendly insects and natural enemies. This method naturally controls harmful insects by increasing the population of insects like ladybird beetles and parasitic wasps. This maintains a balanced ecosystem in the field and protects the crops.
Sub-Inspector Vinay Verma explained that IPM uses biological, mechanical, and physical methods. This controls pest infestations and reduces the need for chemical pesticides.
Crops are protected, production costs are reduced, and farmers receive good market prices. Experts say that by adopting organic alternatives in a timely manner, farmers can not only avoid toxic farming but also protect the soil and environment.
