Chandigarh University, UP, has launched Campus Tank to encourage innovation and entrepreneurship among young entrepreneurs. This platform not only provides young entrepreneurs with expert guidance but also financial support to turn their ideas into reality.
Over 1,000 startups were connected under this initiative, of which the top 10 presented their ideas to investors and received funding. A total of US$6 million (approximately ₹50 crore) has been allocated for this program launched by Chandigarh University, UP. This funding will support young entrepreneurs associated with Campus Tank at every step from the initial stage of their startup ideas to market launch. This funding will provide a financial foundation, which is often the biggest challenge for fledgling startups. This funding will be used to connect startups and provide them with mentorship, incubation, and networking opportunities.
Campus Tank has emerged as a unique platform for young people to share their ideas with industry expert mentors and investors and take their startups to new heights.
CU AI Space Launched: Along with the inauguration of Campus Tank, Chandigarh University, UP also launched CU AI Space. This platform is specifically designed to create a collaborative environment for student startups and industry professionals to conduct research, development, and innovation in the field of AI. CU AI Space will be equipped with cutting-edge technology and AI-based tools to inspire young innovators to solve real-world problems.
On this occasion, Industry Development Minister Nand Gopal Gupta Nandi said that the university is a laboratory for nation-building rather than man-making. Chandigarh University is striving in this area. Chandigarh University has made numerous efforts to modernize education and align it with global expectations. Nurturing talent requires resources. Today is the era of research and technology. This hackathon is a meaningful initiative in this direction. This event will establish Chandigarh University as a leading AI hub. It will prove to be a milestone in promoting innovation and startups. Uttar Pradesh is also participating significantly in this. This event is important in exploring and giving prominence to the ideas of the youth of Uttar Pradesh.
Minister Nandi said that during the last eleven years, under the leadership of Prime Minister Modi, India has emerged as the third largest startup ecosystem in the world. The number of startups in the country is growing at a rate of 12.15 percent. Our double-engine government has taken several important steps to promote innovation in Uttar Pradesh. Chandigarh University’s TBI Center has incubated more than 200 startups on campus, of which 11 startups have an annual turnover of more than 5 million rupees.
The Campus Tank will take ideas and innovation to new heights.
During the inaugural ceremony, the successful results of the first phase of Campus Tank were also revealed. From over 1,000 startups recruited under this initiative, 10 of the best startups received a unique opportunity to present their ideas to a panel of investors. These 10 selected startups impressed investors based on their creativity and market potential and received the necessary funding. This success reflects the effectiveness of the Campus Tank model and Chandigarh University’s entrepreneurial ecosystem.
Developed India 2047: A National Pledge: Satnam Singh Sandhu, Chancellor of Chandigarh University, UP, and Rajya Sabha MP, emphasized the role of youth in nation-building on this occasion. He said that Campus Tank is not just a launchpad; it is a movement that will nurture India’s future entrepreneurs. He further added, “Our goal is for our young innovators and founders to become a pillar in realizing Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s national vision of a developed India by 2047.
