I drank sauf water every morning for a month, the results shocked me

New Delhi : Sauf, also known as fennel seeds, has been a staple in Indian kitchens for generations. I had always chewed it after meals for digestion, but recently I decided to try it in a new form, soaked overnight and consumed as sauf water every morning.

Like many others, I had seen social media posts claiming that this simple drink could reduce bloating, help with weight loss, improve skin, and boost metabolism.

Curious but cautious, I decided to drink sauf water daily for one month to see what actually happened.

1. MY DIGESTION FELT LIGHTER AND LESS BLOATED

One of the first changes I noticed was improved digestion. My stomach felt lighter, especially after meals. Sauf contains compounds that help relax digestive muscles and reduce gas formation. Over time, bloating and acidity reduced, and that heavy post-meal feeling became less frequent. My bowel movements also felt more regular.

2. I NOTICED LESS WATER RETENTION, NOT DRAMATIC WEIGHT LOSS

I did not see dramatic weight loss, but I did feel less puffy. Sauf water has mild diuretic properties, which may help the body flush out excess water. This reflected in slight changes to the weighing scale, particularly on days when I usually felt bloated.

3. MY SUGAR CRAVINGS REDUCED SLIGHTLY

Drinking warm sauf water in the morning helped control unnecessary snacking. I noticed fewer cravings for sugary or fried foods. While it didn’t suppress my appetite completely, it made mindful eating easier over time.

4. MY GUT FELT CALMER WITH LESS ACIDITY

I often experience acidity, especially on stressful days. Over the month, my stomach felt calmer, and episodes of acid reflux reduced. Fennel’s natural anti-inflammatory and soothing properties seemed to help ease digestive discomfort.

5. SMALL BUT NOTICEABLE IMPROVEMENT IN OVERALL WELL-BEING

After a few weeks, my skin felt slightly clearer, and I had fewer breakouts. This felt more like the result of better digestion and hydration rather than any “detox” effect. Overall, my body felt lighter and more balanced.

Drinking sauf water every day for a month supported my digestion, reduced bloating, and helped me eat more mindfully. However, it was not a miracle drink. The benefits were subtle and worked best when paired with a balanced diet, regular movement, and good sleep.
