Sachin Malik Lucknow: The Buyer–Seller Conference under the Uttar Pradesh Mango Festival-2026 was held at Jan Bhawan, Lucknow, in the Gracious Presence of the Governor of Uttar Pradesh, Anandiben Patel. The conference brought together Progressive mango Growers, agricultural Scientists, exporters and departmental officials to deliberate on various aspects of mango Production, marketing, Processing and exports, While also facilitating direct interaction between Growers and Exporters.
Addressing the Gathering, the Governor directed the Concerned departments to take necessary action on issues raised by Farmer Producer Organizations (FPO), including Global G.A.P. Certification, Production of high-Quality mangoes, export-related Challenges and the availability of modern equipment for Safe and Scientific harvesting. She also emphasized Promoting Year-Round mango Plantations, developing sandalwood Groves across the State, Strengthening Krishi Vigyan Kendras with better infrastructure, ensuring transparent utilization of Government Grants and encouraging women empowerment through training in Pickle-Making, food Processing and other Value-added Enterprises.
Experts at the conference discussed Safe mango harvesting, Post-harvest management, value addition, Processing industries, branding, Good Agricultural Practices (GAP), organic and natural farming techniques and export opportunities.
Several Memoranda of Understanding (MOU) were also signed between mango Growers and exporters to ensure the Supply of Quality mangoes, establish mutually agreed Pricing mechanisms and Promote marketing and Exports.
Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya urged farmers to focus on Processing and Exports, encouraging them to take local Products to Global markets in line with the vision of a Self-Reliant and developed India. Horticulture Minister Dinesh Pratap Singh highlighted that Uttar Pradesh contributes nearly 26 Percent of the Country total mango Production and assured farmers of the Government full support in establishing food Processing units and Promoting mango Exports.
The conference was attended by the Governor Special Officer, Dr. Sudhir Mahadev Bobde (of the Rank of Additional Chief Secretary), Senior officials from the concerned departments, agricultural Scientists, mango Growers, exporters and a large number of Farmers.
