NEW DELHI : IIM Bangalore has climbed seven places to rank 21st globally in the Financial Times Masters in Management (FT MiM) 2026 ranking, improving from 28th in 2025 and retaining its position as the highest-ranked Indian institute. The institute ranked 41st globally in 2024 meaning its latest 21st-place finish represents a 20-place improvement in two years.
Among the other Indian institutes, SP Jain Institute of Management and Research (SPJIMR) ranked 26th globally, followed by IIM Ahmedabad at 27th. XLRI was placed 33rd, while IIM Calcutta ranked 39th.
Other Indian institutes in the 2026 ranking include IIM Kozhikode at 54th, IIM Indore at 62nd, MDI Gurgaon at 67th, IIM Lucknow at 72nd, NMIMS Mumbai at 73rd, IIM Udaipur at 83rd, IMI Delhi at 90th and TA Pai Management Institute at 98th.
The University of St Gallen retained the top position globally, followed by Nova School of Business and Economics and Shanghai Jiao Tong University: Antai.

The FT Masters in Management ranking assesses business schools across 19 criteria, covering parameters such as career progression, salary outcomes, value for money, diversity, international exposure and sustainability. Alumni responses account for 56% of the overall ranking weight, while school data contributes the remaining 44%.
In the 2025 rankings, IIM Ahmedabad secured the second spot in India and ranked 34 globally. While SP Jain Institute of Management & Research secured the 35th place and IIM Calcutta was placed in the 41st place. IIM Lucknow secured rank 57, XLRI Jamshedpur grabbed the 58th spot globally while IIM Kozhikode Kozhikode secured rank 69 and Management Development Institute (MDI) Gurgaon took the 72nd spot. This was followed by IIM Indore at 81 rank, IIM Udaipur at 98 and International Management Institute (IMI) Delhi at rank 99.
