Sachin Malik: On the death anniversary of former Union Minister Late Kalpnath Rai, Uttar Pradesh Urban Development and Energy Minister A.K Sharma has initiated a Significant Proposal to Permanently honour his legacy. The initiative seeks to rename one of India Earliest off-Grid Solar Power Plants, established in 1992 at Sarayasadi, Ghosi in Mau district, after the late leader.
The Proposal also includes the installation of a Statue of Late Kalpnath Rai within the Solar Plant Premises, ensuring that future Generations remember his contribution to the country energy sector and Public Service.
Minister A.K. Sharma has also launched efforts to revive and modernise the Solar Power Plant, Which has remained non-operational for nearly 25 Years. Under the Proposed Plan, the ageing 100-kilowatt off-Grid Solar facility will be upgraded using modern technology and expanded nearly fiftyfold to a 5-megawatt capacity, transforming it into a State-of-the-art Solar Energy Park.
The initiative reflects the Uttar Pradesh Government continued commitment to renewable energy under the Guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. The Proposed redevelopment is expected to Preserve the State energy heritage While Promoting Clean and sustainable Power Generation.
According to the State Government, the move to commemorate Late Kalpnath Rai through this landmark renewable energy Project represents a visionary Step toward Strengthening Green energy infrastructure While Paying lasting tribute to a leader associated with the early development of Dolar energy in the Region.
