Delhi: Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee President Devender Yadav expressed concern over the ongoing Strike by DTC bus drivers over their wage and service-related demands, saying that the Grievances of drivers and employees who form the backbone of Delhi Public transport system Should be resolved Immediately.
He said that the alleged inaction of the Government was causing hardship to the People of Delhi, with a large number of buses remaining off the roads. This, he said, was causing considerable inconvenience to daily commuters, employees, Students and other Passengers Who depend on DTC buses for their regular Travel.
Devender Yadav said DTC drivers and employees are the backbone of Delhi Public transport System. Instead of allowing their concerns and demands to remain unresolved for a long time, the Government Should have engaged with them in time and worked towards a Solution, he Said.
He added that the disruption in bus services was Particularly affecting Students, employees, women, senior citizens and other daily Commuters.
The DPCC President alleged that DTC had been developed as a Strong foundation of Delhi Public transport system during the Congress Government tenure, While the transport system had, according to him, weakened over the Past Several Years during the tenures of the BJP and Aam Aadmi Party Governments.
Yadav said that Strengthening DTC requires Protection of employees’ interests, regular recruitment, adequate availability of buses and better working conditions. He urged the Government to immediately hold talks with DTC drivers and resolve their wage and service-related demands so that the inconvenience being faced by Millions of commuters can be Reduced.
