New Delhi : US President Donald Trump issued a fresh warning to Iran as reports emerged that dozens of American planes carrying ammunition had landed in Israel, fuelling speculation about another possible escalation in West Asia.
According to Al Jazeera, citing Israel’s Channel 13, the planes arrived in Tel Aviv from US bases in Germany over the past 24 hours. The report said the military movement was being viewed in Israel as part of preparations for a possible renewed offensive against Iran.
The developments come at a time when negotiations between Washington and Tehran remain stalled over key issues including uranium stockpiles, sanctions relief and compensation linked to months of conflict in the region. Despite a ceasefire brokered earlier this year through Pakistani mediation, both sides continue to remain far apart on major political and military demands.
Trump, in a post on Truth Social on Sunday, warned Tehran against delaying negotiations.
“For Iran, the Clock is Ticking, and they better get moving, FAST, or there won’t be anything left of them. TIME IS OF THE ESSENCE!” he wrote.
His remarks came shortly after Iranian media outlets reported details of Washington’s proposed conditions for restarting talks.
As per Iran’s Fars News Agency, the United States has demanded that Iran hand over 400 kilograms of enriched uranium, limit operations to a single nuclear facility and withdraw demands for compensation linked to the recent conflict. The report also claimed Washington wants most frozen Iranian assets to remain blocked until negotiations are completed.
Tehran, however, has responded with its own conditions before returning to the negotiating table.
What Iran is demanding before talks resume
Iranian media reports said Tehran wants military operations across the region, especially in Lebanon, to stop before any formal negotiations begin. Iran has also demanded the removal of sanctions and the release of overseas assets frozen by Western countries.
In addition, Tehran is seeking compensation for damages caused during the conflict and recognition of its sovereignty over the Strait of Hormuz, one of the world’s most strategically important shipping routes.
Iran has tightened oversight of maritime movement through the strait in recent months, while the US has stepped up pressure on Iranian shipping and port activity through expanded naval operations in the region.
Ceasefire holds, but tensions remain high
Although large-scale fighting between the sides eased after the ceasefire earlier this year, diplomatic efforts have failed to produce a long-term settlement.
The latest military movement involving US aircraft and Trump’s sharp warning have once again raised concerns about the fragile security situation across West Asia.
