Himanshu Rai Ghazipur: An awareness workshop was organized on the occasion of World AIDS Day at the local Government Ghazipur Homeopathic Medical College, Rauza, attended by all faculty and students.
This year theme for World AIDS Day 2025 is “Transforming the AIDS Response, Overcoming Barriers.”
This theme will recognize the challenges currently facing the fight against the AIDS epidemic, such as lack of access to health services, social inequalities, discrimination and stigma. It will also strive to transform the AIDS response with new strategies, innovation and commitment. The goal is to intensify efforts towards the global goal of completely eliminating AIDS as a public health threat by 2030.
This year theme reminds us that the fight against AIDS is not limited to medicines or treatment, it is a fight for social justice, equality, human rights and human compassion. This theme was chosen keeping in mind the goal of eliminating AIDS by 2030.
On this occasion, Principal and Professor of Social and Preventive Medicine, Dr. Rajendra Singh, explained that infection with the Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) weakens the body immune system, making it Difficult for the Patient to fight diseases. HIV infection Poses the risk of AIDS or Acquired Immunodeficiency Syndrome. World AIDS Day is celebrated every year on December 1st to raise awareness about HIV and AIDS, improve the quality of life of AIDS Patients and Protect them from social discrimination.
Early detection and timely treatment of HIV are crucial. The earlier HIV is detected and treatment begins, the better the outcome.
Evidence is possible only through information. Students listened attentively to this topic. They also addressed healthy sexual behavior, healthy lifestyles and misconceptions about adolescence.
