Sachin Malik Gautam Buddh Nagar: In compliance with the directions of the Uttar Pradesh State Legal Services Authority, Lucknow and the District Judge/Chairman, District Legal Services Authority Gautam Buddh Nagar, Secretary of the District Legal Services Authority, Gautam Buddh Nagar, Shivani Rawat, conducted the monthly inspection of the District Jail, Gautam Buddh Nagar, today. Deputy Jailor Surjeet Singh was Present on the Occasion.
During the inspection, it was informed that 2,271 inmates are currently lodged in the District Jail, Gautam Buddh Nagar. The Secretary inspected the Juvenile barracks and interacted with the Juveniles lodged there to ascertain the current Status of their cases and enquire about their Problems.
The Legal Aid Cell established in the District Jail was also inspected. In addition, a legal awareness camp was organized in the women barrack, Where the Problems and concerns of the women inmates were Heard.
During the visit, the Secretary also reviewed the work being carried out by the Prison Para-Legal Volunteers (PLV) appointed in the Jail and examined the records maintained by them. Necessary information was obtained and the arrangements related to legal aid were reviewed. Necessary directions were also issued to ensure Proper implementation of legal assistance Facilities.
