Mathura : Mathura Police have busted an alleged cyber fraud Network Involved in online financial fraud and the Preparation and use of fake SIM cards and forged identity documents. A joint team of Kotwali Police, the SWAT Team and the Special Operations Group (SOG) arrested five suspects in connection with the Case.
Police recovered 76 fake SIM cards, Nine Photocopies of forged Aadhaar cards, Eight Mobile Phones and a Bolero vehicle from the Accused.
Joint Police Operation Leads to Arrests
According to Police, the action was carried out as Part of an ongoing campaign against Cybercrime and criminal activities on the directions of the Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP), Mathura.
Acting on information from an informant, the Joint team conducted an operation near a tea Stall in front of Moti Manzil at around 12:30 a.m. on August 16, 2026, Where all five Suspects were Arrested.
The arrested individuals have been identified as Nisar, son of Ali Mohammad: Khalid, Son of Joru: Insaf, Son of Nasru: Talim, Son of Ummar and Tofiq, Son of Ashu. Police said the accused are reportedly between 20 and 28 Years of Age.
Allegedly Created Fake Social Media Profiles
During interrogation, the suspects allegedly told Police that they worked together to carry out Cyber Fraud.
According to the Police, the accused obtained mobile numbers and other Personal information of individuals and then contacted their acquaintances while impersonating them. They allegedly used different Pretexts to convince victims to transfer money into accounts controlled by Them.
Police further alleged that the accused used Photographs obtained from social media Platforms to create fake WhatsApp Profiles in the names of other individuals. They then contacted the victims’ friends and Relatives, Claiming to be in urgent need of Money.
The suspects also allegedly used fraudulent links and fake messages showing that money had been deposited into an account to deceive Victims.
Forged Aadhaar Documents Allegedly Used for Fake SIM Cards
Police said that during interrogation, the accused allegedly admitted that the recovered Aadhaar copies were forged.
According to investigators, Photographs and Personal details of different individuals were allegedly used to Prepare counterfeit Aadhaar documents, Which were Subsequently used to obtain SIM cards through fraudulent Means.
Case Registered Under BNS and IT Act
A case has been registered at Kotwali Police Station under FIR No. 581/2026. The accused have been booked Under
Police said further legal Proceedings are underway and the investigation will continue to establish the wider network and Possible involvement of other Persons.
