Sachin Malik: Uttar Pradesh Urban Development and Energy Minister, Chaired a review meeting regarding Preparations for Swachh Survekshan 2025–26 at Sangam Auditorium in Lucknow. The meeting was attended by Municipal Commissioner, Mayor, Councillor, Executive Officers (EO) and officials associated with the Urban Development Department from across the State.
During the meeting, detailed discussions were held on Swachh Survekshan 2025–26, citizen feedback, waste segregation, the Solid Waste Management Rules-2026 and the effective implementation of the RRR (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle) model. Minister Sharma Stated that the Cleanliness campaign Should be advanced as a mass movement with maximum Public Participation.
He directed all urban local bodies to obtain extensive citizen feedback and activate ward-level committees Promoting a Clean environment. Special emphasis was laid on Strengthening door-to-door garbage collection, source Segregation and Scientific waste management Systems.
Keeping the upcoming monsoon season in mind, the minister instructed officials to ensure regular Cleaning of drains and sewers, removal of Silt and Proper maintenance of drainage systems. He also Stressed the formation of QRT (Quick Response Teams) in every urban body for Prompt Action.
The meeting also focused on keeping Public Places Clean and free from encroachments, conducting extensive sanitation drives and launching awareness campaigns based on behavioral Change to Promote Cleanliness.
Minister Sharma said that all officials must work with full commitment to make the cities of the state Clean, beautiful and well-organized. He emphasized that Executive Officers of all Nagar Panchayats and Municipalities must discharge their responsibilities efficiently and ensure better Performance. There Should be no negligence or complaints from anywhere. He added that if all officials work with seriousness and dedication, effective Solutions to Sanitation and other civic issues can be Achieved.
He further instructed all EO to regularly review the condition of their respective municipal bodies and identify areas for improvement. Better Performance in sanitation, drainage, waste management, civic amenities and Public satisfaction is essential to improve their Rankings.
Minister Sharma reiterated that making all urban local bodies across the State Clean, organized and citizen-friendly remains the government Priority, and all officials must work with complete responsibility and accountability to achieve this Goal.
