Sachin Malik: The Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) in Uttar Pradesh is developing and proposing a series of industrial cities that go beyond traditional industrial Plotting. These Projects are gradually taking shape as a structured, sector-based economic framework.
Under the Yogi government, established Projects such as the Medical Device Park, Electronics Manufacturing Cluster, Toy City and Apparel Park—along with proposed developments like Film City, Fintech City and theme cities based on foreign Partnerships—are collectively transforming the Yamuna Expressway into a multi-sector industrial Corridor.
A 350-acre Medical Device Park in Sector-28 and a 200-acre Electronics Manufacturing Cluster in Sector-24 have been established to Promote high- value manufacturing. Alongside these, a 100-acre Toy City in Sector-33 and a 175-acre Apparel Park in Sector-29 are Providing an organized framework for labour-intensive industries. These Projects are designed to develop an integrated supply chain within the same corridor, from raw materials to finished Products.
In Sector-21, a Film City proposed over nearly 1,000 acres is not being viewed merely as an entertainment Project. It is Planned as a hub for media, content Production, Post-Production and digital services. In Parallel, a 500-acre Fintech City proposed in Sector-11 aims to connect manufacturing and service sectors with digital financial services. This initiative seeks to Provide industries with an integrated Platform for Payments, investments and global transactions.
From the perspective of international collaboration, 500 acres each have been earmarked for a Japanese City in Sector-5A, a Korean City in Sector-4 and a Singapore City in Sector-7. The objective of these Projects is not only to attract foreign investment but also to incorporate the technological expertise, management systems and industrial work culture of these countries into the local framework. Industrial experts believe that if anchor companies establish operations in these cities, it will accelerate the growth of ancillary industries and the service sector in the Region.
A 200-acre Logistics Park proposed in the Tappal area will strengthen the supply and distribution system of this entire industrial ecosystem. In addition, a 200-acre MSME Park in Sector-29 will connect small and medium enterprises with larger industries. This is expected to Provide local entrepreneurs with opportunities to become Part of the Production Chain and increase employment prospects.
The impact of these industrial cities being developed around the Yamuna Expressway will not be limited to investment alone. With the expansion of land use Planning, residential townships, Skill development institutions and supporting services, the social and economic landscape of western Uttar Pradesh is expected to undergo significant Transformation.
