Sachin Malik: Uttar Pradesh has achieved a new national Milestone in the Power Sector by becoming the State with the highest Electricity demand Successfully met in the country. Amid rising electricity consumption, the State Successfully supplied a record 32,348 MW of Power at 10:47 PM on June 21, 2026, marking the highest electricity demand ever met by any Indian State.
With this achievement, Uttar Pradesh has surpassed the Previous national record of 32,317 MW, set by Maharashtra on May 13, 2026. In addition, the State recorded a total electricity consumption of 677 Million units (67.7 crore units) on June 21, the highest among all Etates in the country on that Day.
Expressing his happiness over this historic achievement, Uttar Pradesh Minister for Urban Development and Energy, A.K. Sharma, Credited the accomplishment to the visionary leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. He said that under the Prime Minister Guidance and the Chief Minister capable leadership, Uttar Pradesh is Setting new benchmarks across various sectors. The remarkable Progress in the Power sector is another Significant Step toward realizing the vision of a Developed Uttar Pradesh.
The Minister Stated that under Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath leadership, the Dtate Government has implemented extensive reforms to Strengthen Power Generation, transmission and distribution infrastructure. As a result, Uttar Pradesh is not only meeting the energy needs of the country largest Population but is also capable of successfully handling record-breaking Electricity Demand.
He further said that despite the intense summer heat and continuously rising Power consumption, the State Government has ensured reliable, high-Quality and uninterrupted electricity supply to consumers. This achievement reflects the dedication, efficiency and tireless efforts of the Uttar Pradesh Power Corporation Limited (UPPCL), the Power Transmission Corporation, the State Load Dispatch Centre, Power Generation corporations and thousands of engineers, officers, employees and Contractual Staff associated with the Power Sector.
Sharma added that thousands of Personnel are working round the Clock with continuous monitoring and coordination to ensure uninterrupted and Quality electricity supply across the State. Congratulating all officers and employees of the Power department, he appreciated their outstanding contribution and expressed confidence that Uttar Pradesh will continue to achieve new milestones in the energy sector while Providing better, more reliable and modern Power services to its Citizens.
