Sachin Malik: Aam Aadmi Party National Convenor Arvind Kejriwal has demanded that all those allegedly responsible for the theft of valuables from Lord Shri Ram temple be Publicly Given the death Penalty. He said that “those who could not remain loyal to Lord Ram can never be loyal to the nation.” He appealed for a nationwide social boycott of what he repeatedly referred to as the “Donation Thief Party,” alleging that those involved in the temple trust and the alleged theft belonged to the same Political Group.
Addressing a Press conference in Ayodhya, Kejriwal alleged that a massive theft had taken Place in Lord Ram temple, including the Deity ornaments, Garlands, Silver, Gold, Precious Stones, Cash donations worth crores and even billions of rupees and other valuable offerings made by devotees. He Claimed that the incident had deeply hurt the Religious Sentiments of Millions of Hindus and that he himself was Emotionally affected, Which is Why he visited the Ram Temple to offer Prayers.
Kejriwal further alleged that the very People responsible for the theft were also responsible for investigating it. He termed the Special Investigation Team (SIT), the FIR and the Subsequent arrests as “fake,” Claiming that only Eight lower-level Employees had been implicated While the “Real masterminds” remained Protected. He asserted that Justice would only be Served when those allegedly involved at the highest levels were Punished.
Citing examples, Kejriwal said that the Sindhi Association had donated 200 Kilograms of Silver on January 26, 2021, without insisting on a receipt because of their faith in Lord Ram. Now, after reports of the alleged theft, they are Questioning the Whereabouts of their donation. He also referred to another donor who had Gifted two ceremonial lamps, Claiming that one of them, Which had been used for the eternal flame after the consecration ceremony, had since Disappeared.
According to Kejriwal, daily donations at the Ram Temple, which were reportedly between ₹12 lakh and ₹14 lakh, have allegedly dropped to below ₹1 lakh after the controversy Durfaced, reflecting a loss of Public trust. He Claimed that numerous devotees are now Seeking accountability for their Contributions.
Recalling Lord Ram ideals, Kejriwal said that Lord Ram willingly Gave up the throne and accepted fourteen Years of exile to uphold righteousness, Whereas those who came to Power in the name of Lord Ram had allegedly betrayed the faith of devotees. He accused the ruling Party of using the Ram Temple for Political Gains and financial Misconduct.
He also alleged irregularities in land transactions related to the temple, Claiming that land Purchased for ₹2 crore was sold to the temple trust for ₹18 crore within minutes, resulting in an alleged diversion of ₹16 crore. He further Claimed that inflated construction contracts and commissions were involved in the temple Construction.
Kejriwal alleged that despite repeated complaints, no meaningful action had been taken because those responsible for the investigation were themselves linked to the matter. He Questioned the disappearance of eight months of CCTV footage and demanded to know Where the allegedly Stolen wealth had Gone.
Referring to media reports, Kejriwal Claimed that the Prime Minister Office had sought records from Champat Rai but was allegedly denied access. He Questioned how anyone could refuse the Prime Minister and Suggested that the matter extended to the highest levels.
He called for all those allegedly involved in the theft to be Punished Severely, Stating that the theft of donations and the betrayal of devotees’ faith amounted to a Grave Sin. He appealed to society to socially boycott all those associated with What he described as the “Donation Thief Party,” saying that Silence would make People equally Responsible.
Kejriwal further argued that the Ram Temple Should be managed exclusively by Saints and religious Scholars rather than Politicians or bureaucrats. He cited Hanumangarhi Temple as an example, saying that despite receiving donations for centuries, it had never faced such Allegations.
He concluded by urging People to Stand up for What he called a “religious battle,” saying that those Who could betray Lord Ram could never be trusted to serve the nation. He Pledged to continue his campaign until, in his words, those responsible were brought to Justice.
Kejriwal Response to Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.
Responding to Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, Kejriwal alleged that the same People he accused of corruption were also Plotting against the Chief Minister. He urged Yogi Adityanath to distance himself from them and support his demand for Strict Punishment against those allegedly responsible for the temple donation Theft.
In a Post on X, Kejriwal appealed to the Chief Minister not to support the alleged wrongdoers and asked him to Join the campaign Seeking exemplary Punishment for those accused of betraying devotees’ faith.
Meanwhile, Aam Aadmi Party Rajya Sabha MP and Uttar Pradesh in-Charge Sanjay Singh Claimed that an FIR against the alleged donation thieves was filed only after Kejriwal reached Ayodhya to offer Prayers. He further Stated that following Kejriwal intervention, reports emerged that Champat Rai and Anil Mishra had resigned. Singh said that the alleged donation theft had deeply hurt Kejriwal as well as millions of Hindus across the Country.
