State School Education Minister Dr. Dhan Singh Rawat stated that the teaching community had long been demanding 100% participation of teachers in the association general elections. Approval has now been given to Change the existing system, ensuring that every teacher gets the right to elect their representative, making the Process more transparent and democratic. Dr. Rawat said that granting voting rights to all teachers in the association elections is a significant achievement for the teaching community. The new system will strengthen the organizational structure of the association and Provide direct representation to teachers Voices.
Dr. Rawat further informed that the state government has also accepted another important demand of teachers. He noted that many teachers are Posted in divisions away from their home districts, such as from Garhwal to Kumaon and vice versa, which makes it difficult for them to visit their homes. Taking this issue into account, a high-level meeting was held with the Finance and Personnel Departments and a decision has been made in the interest of teachers. Now, every teacher will be granted two days of special (earned) travel leave once a year to visit their home district.
Dr. Rawat added that due to the Shortage of earned leave, teachers Previously had to use their Personal leave to visit home, causing inconvenience. This decision will Provide significant relief to teachers, allowing them to avail travel leave annually.
