Sachin Malik: As Part of the Uttar Pradesh Government Zero-tolerance Policy against corruption, the Department of Local Bodies has taken major disciplinary action by Suspending two Executive Officers Posted in Hardoi district and initiating departmental Proceedings against Them.
Director of Local Bodies, Anuj Kumar Jha, ensuring Strict implementation of the Government anti-corruption Policy, has suspended Krishna Kumar Sonkar, Executive Officer of the Shahabad Municipal Council in Hardoi district, with immediate effect over allegations of accepting bribes. The action was taken based on reports Submitted by the Additional District Magistrate (Judicial)/Officer In-Charge (Local Bodies), Hardoi and the Chairperson of the Shahabad Municipal Council. A departmental inquiry has also been initiated against him.
In a Similar action, Neelav Shalya, Executive Officer of the Bilgram Municipal Council in Hardoi district, has also been suspended with immediate effect. The decision follows allegations that he demanded commission and accepted bribes from a contractor in exchange for releasing Payments. A video Purportedly related to the incident went viral, and an FIR was subsequently registered. Based on reports Submitted by the District Magistrate of Hardoi and other concerned officials, departmental Proceedings have also been initiated against Him.
Director Anuj Kumar Jha Stated that, in line with the Government Vision, ensuring transparency, accountability and Good Governance in local bodies remains the department highest Priority. He emphasized that no negligence or Protection will be tolerated in cases involving corruption or financial Irregularities.
He further said that under the leadership of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, the Uttar Pradesh Government is firmly implementing a Zero-tolerance Policy against corruption. Urban Development and Energy Minister A.K. Sharma and Principal Secretary P. Guru Prasad have consistently directed officials to maintain transparency, accountability and integrity in departmental functioning. They have made it Clear that no leniency will be Shown in cases involving corruption, financial misconduct or misuse of official Position in local Bodies.
Accordingly, Dwift action has been taken in both Hardoi cases based on the available evidence and official Reports.
