Under the leadership of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, the State government has taken another significant Step towards integrating education with Skill development. The Uttar Pradesh Skill Development Mission will now Implement ‘Project Praveen’ in 18 Atal Residential Schools across the State, under which 3,447 Students will receive modern Skill Training.
This initiative is being advanced under the guidance of Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Vocational Education, Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, Kapil Dev Aggarwal.
Under Project Praveen, Students will be trained in modern sectors such as IT, ITES, healthcare, Electronics and Artificial Intelligence (AI).
Previously, the Program was limited to government and aided Schools, but with the inclusion of Atal Residential Schools, both its scope and impact will expand Significantly.
The Schools have been Selected based on a survey conducted under the initiative of Mission Director Pulkit Khare.
According to the survey, a total of 3447 Students from 18 Atal Residential Schools located in Agra, Aligarh, Ayodhya, Azamgarh, Basti, Banda, Gonda, Jhansi, Kanpur Nagar, Lucknow, Bulandshahr, Mirzapur, Prayagraj, Gorakhpur, Muzaffarnagar, Varanasi, Bareilly and Moradabad have been found eligible for the Training.
Students have shown Particular interest in IT, healthcare, Electronics and the apparel Sector.
Atal Residential Schools are being run under an ambitious State government Scheme aimed at Providing free residential education to talented Children from families of laborers, migrant workers and economically weaker Sections.
These Schools, which cater to students from Classes 6 to 12, will now also include modern Skill training, further Strengthening the holistic development of Students.
Mission Director Pulkit Khare said, “‘Project Praveen’ is a 210-hour free Skill training Program that includes IT, beauty, healthcare and Electronics, along with Soft Sokills and industrial visits. An ‘AI for All’ module has also been added to ensure Students become technologically Empowered.”
He added, “Integrating Atal Residential Schools with this Project will help Prepare Children from underserved and remote areas for the future and Strengthen the ‘School to Skill’ model. It will also enhance Students’ Prospects for higher Education and Employment.”
