Lucknow: Former DGP of Uttar Pradesh, Prashant Kumar, has shared his views on film ‘Dhurandhar-2’ on social media Platform X. He stated that action taken against mafia rule in Uttar Pradesh is the result of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath firm resolve and zero tolerance Policy. He added that real credit for this success goes to every officer and constable who stood firm on ground during that Period and worked bravely despite risks. “They are the real ‘Dhurandhars'”, he said.

According to an article Published in an english daily, film Portrays the sequence of events related to downfall of mafia don Atiq Ahmed and his brother Ashraf as a decisive strike against mafia network in UP. Article highlights the role of then Police leadership, especially former DGP Prashant Kumar, calling it a significant turning Point in establishing the rule of law in State.

As Per report, ‘Dhurandhar 2’ connects the underworld of Lyari in Pakistan with the mafia networks in Uttar Pradesh. Film features a Police officer character said to be inspired by DGP Prashant Kumar. It also illustrates how the rise and fall of Atiq Ahmed exposed deep nexus between crime and Politics and how the campaign during Yogi government Played a decisive role in breaking this Nexus.

Report mentions the Killing of Atiq Ahmed and Ashraf in Prayagraj, describing it as a moment that drew nationwide attention to UP law and order situation.
