NEW DELHI : The final week of July brings a packed streaming calendar filled with returning favourites, ambitious animated adventures, unsettling true-crime documentaries and emotionally charged dramas. Meryl Streep and Anne Hathaway step back into the unforgiving world of fashion in The Devil Wears Prada 2, while Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – Infinity Castle Part 1 begins the anime saga’s decisive battle against Muzan.

The Devil Wears Prada 2 – July 29 (JioHotstar)
Nearly two decades after Andy Sachs walked away from Runway magazine and the punishing demands of Miranda Priestly, Anne Hathaway and Meryl Streep return for the much-awaited sequel to The Devil Wears Prada.
The story finds Runway facing an existential crisis as falling print revenues, corporate budget cuts and the rapid expansion of digital media threaten the magazine’s future. Miranda, once considered untouchable within the fashion industry, must now fight to retain control over the publication she transformed into a global authority.
Andy, who has built a life away from Miranda’s influence, is drawn back into her former boss’s orbit when Runway needs her expertise. Their reunion revives unresolved tensions while forcing both women to confront how dramatically publishing, fashion and power have changed since they last worked together.
Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – Infinity Castle Part 1 – July 28 (Crunchyroll)
The final war against Muzan Kibutsuji begins as Tanjiro Kamado, Nezuko and the Hashira are pulled into the Infinity Castle, the demon king’s vast and constantly shifting fortress.
The animated feature marks the first chapter of the climactic confrontation that fans have been waiting years to see. Separated inside the castle’s labyrinthine chambers, the Demon Slayers must face some of Muzan’s strongest surviving followers while attempting to reach the enemy responsible for generations of death and suffering.
With the future of humanity hanging in the balance, Tanjiro’s quest to protect Nezuko and end the demon curse enters its most dangerous phase yet. The film combines large-scale action with deeply personal confrontations rooted in sacrifice, grief and unfinished revenge.
Batman: Caped Crusader Season 2 – July 31 (Prime Video)
Gotham’s masked vigilante returns for another noir-infused season as Batman attempts to dismantle what remains of Rupert Thorne’s criminal empire.
The arrest of several powerful mob bosses has created a vacuum across the city, but their prosecution proves to be only the beginning. Witnesses are threatened, evidence disappears and rival criminals begin competing for control of Gotham’s streets.
As the rogues’ gallery expands, Batman finds himself facing enemies who rely on psychological manipulation and institutional corruption as much as physical violence. The ten-episode season continues exploring Bruce Wayne’s early years as a crime-fighter while examining the price of his increasingly obsessive mission.
The Legend of Karna – July 31 (SonyLIV)
This Hindi animated mythological series revisits the extraordinary life of Karna, one of the most complex and tragic warriors in the Mahabharata.
Created by Sharad Devarajan and Jeevan J. Kang, with Kang also directing, the series traces Karna’s journey from his mysterious birth and abandonment to his upbringing in a charioteer’s household. Despite possessing exceptional skill as an archer, he repeatedly encounters prejudice because of the social identity assigned to him.
His friendship with Duryodhana offers him status and recognition but also binds him to choices that will ultimately shape the Kurukshetra war. The series explores Karna’s loyalty, generosity, ambition and internal conflict as he struggles between gratitude, honour and the truth of his origins.
Colin From Accounts Season 3 – July 27 (JioHotstar)
The Australian romantic comedy returns for its final chapter, placing Gordon and Ashley’s complicated relationship under its greatest strain yet.
Their accidental meeting and shared responsibility for the injured dog Colin initially brought them together, but their connection has since accumulated emotional baggage, career pressures and unresolved disagreements. With their personal and professional lives becoming increasingly difficult to separate, both must confront whether they have built a genuine partnership or merely remained together because circumstances kept pushing them back into one another’s lives.
New characters and changing responsibilities add further complications as the series prepares to answer whether Gordon and Ashley truly belong together.
Chinna Chinna Asai – July 28 (JioHotstar)
A journey to Varanasi becomes an unexpected turning point for Leela, a quiet and guarded woman from Thanjavur.
While travelling with a spiritual tour group, she becomes separated from the others and loses both her phone and purse. Alone in an unfamiliar city, Leela meets Madhavan Master, a warm and talkative schoolteacher from Kerala who offers to help her find her way back.
As they spend the day walking through Varanasi’s crowded streets and ancient ghats, the language barrier between them gradually becomes less important. Their brief companionship develops into a tender connection built through gestures, shared silences and unexpected trust. The Bombing Of Pan Am 103 – July 30 (Netflix)
This six-part limited series dramatises the investigation into the bombing of Pan Am Flight 103 over Lockerbie, Scotland, on December 21, 1988.
The explosion killed all 259 passengers and crew members aboard the aircraft, along with 11 residents on the ground. The tragedy triggered the largest murder investigation in Scottish policing history, with authorities examining evidence across 21 countries in collaboration with the FBI.
Rather than focusing only on the attack, the series follows the investigators tasked with reconstructing what happened from scattered wreckage, intelligence reports and international leads. Connor Swindells, Patrick J. Adams, Peter Mullan, Tony Curran, Eddie Marsan, Douglas Hodge, Lauren Lyle, Kevin McKidd and Phyllis Logan appear in pivotal roles.
Heart Beat Season 3 – July 30 (JioHotstar)
The Tamil medical drama returns with Dr Reena attempting to rebuild her life after emerging from a coma.
Instead of returning to RK Hospital, she begins working at AM Hospital alongside her biological father, Dr Vijay. The move creates a new professional environment for Reena while also forcing her to navigate the emotional complications of building a relationship with him.
Her mother, Dr Radhi, remains at RK Hospital, creating distance between the three characters at a time when their family dynamics are already fragile. The new season continues blending demanding medical cases with workplace rivalries, unresolved relationships and the personal sacrifices made by doctors.
The Devil’s Mouth – July 29 (Prime Video)
Five college friends travel to Thailand for one final adventure before graduation, signing up for a guided swim through a remote coastal cave system known as The Devil’s Mouth.
The excursion turns catastrophic when they discover that a recent storm flooded the caves with seawater and marine life. Most of the creatures trapped inside died when conditions changed, but one predator adapted and remained alive.
Fast, silent and capable of navigating the caves far better than its human prey, the creature begins hunting the group through a maze of narrow underwater passages. Kathryn Newton, Lana Condor, Gavin Casalegno, Nico Hiraga, Tommi Rose and Tayme Thapthimthong lead the survival thriller.
Balan: The Boy – July 31 (ZEE5)
This Malayalam psychological thriller follows a boy whose childhood is shaped by secrecy, shifting identities and life inside a women’s correctional facility.
Balan is raised within the institution by his mother, known only as Amma. Once they leave, she repeatedly changes their names and locations, refusing to explain who they are hiding from or what happened before his birth.
When Amma suddenly disappears, the teenage Balan begins investigating her past. His search gradually exposes the truth behind their years on the run and the forces that compelled his mother to conceal their identities. Adhisheshan K.R. and Muhammad Zinaan portray Balan at different ages, while Farzana Palathingal plays Amma. Tovino Thomas appears in an extended cameo.
The Idaho College Murders: College Nightmare – July 29 (Netflix)
This three-part documentary examines the killing of four University of Idaho students in an off-campus residence in Moscow, Idaho, in November 2022.
Madison Mogen, Kaylee Goncalves, Ethan Chapin and Xana Kernodle were found stabbed to death, leaving the college town gripped by fear as investigators initially released limited information and no suspect was immediately identified.
The series follows the case from the night of the murders to the arrest of criminology graduate student Bryan Kohberger. Using police body-camera footage, archival records and interviews with the victims’ families, it reconstructs both the investigation and the intense public scrutiny surrounding the case.
Final Project – July 29 (Netflix)
This Mexican short-form suspense series examines cyberbullying through the experience of Tamara, a teenager hoping to make a fresh start after transferring to a new school.
Her plans quickly collapse when she becomes the target of anonymous online abuse and a disturbing challenge created by one of her classmates. What begins as mockery spreads across digital spaces, isolating Tamara and making it increasingly difficult for her to identify who is responsible.
As the harassment intensifies, she develops a troubling connection with her tormentor. The relationship forces her to confront the difference between reclaiming control and becoming consumed by the same cruelty being used against her. Isabella Tena, Tristán Maze and Daniela Martínez star in the series.
Gatta Kusthi 2 – Expected July 30 (Netflix)
Vishnu Vishal and Aishwarya Lekshmi return for the sequel to the Tamil sports comedy-drama Gatta Kusthi.
Directed by Chella Ayyavu, the film once again blends wrestling, marriage and domestic conflict while expanding the central couple’s story. The sequel reportedly earned more than Rs 55 crore worldwide during its theatrical run and also features Ramya Krishnan, Yogi Babu, Karunas, Munishkanth and Kaali Venkat.
It is expected to stream in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada and Hindi. However, the makers have not officially confirmed the reported July 30 digital-release date.
