Uttar Pradesh Minister for Urban Development and Energy, A.K. Sharma, during his visit to Ballia, conducted an inspection on the Mehror–Rasra road in the jurisdiction of the Electricity Distribution Division, Jangipur, under Ghazipur district. During the inspection, an 11 kV Power line was found hanging lower than the Prescribed Safety Standards. Taking serious note of this negligence, he immediately directed action against the concerned Officials.
In compliance with the minister instructions, Junior Engineer of the Mahraur Substation, Dharmendra Pal, was found Prima facie guilty of Gross negligence in discharging his departmental duties and was suspended late at night. Additionally, a Charge Sheet has been issued to Praveen Kumar Tiwari, Executive Engineer of the Electricity Distribution Division, Jangipur, Ghazipur.
Minister A.K. Sharma Clearly stated that any kind of negligence in the Power system, especially related to safety Standards, will not be tolerated under any circumstances. He instructed officials to ensure that all Power lines are maintained according to Prescribed norms so that Public safety is guaranteed along with uninterrupted Power supply. He further emphasized that the state government is committed to Providing safe and quality electricity services to citizens and strict action will continue against any officials found Negligent.
