New Delhi: Amid growing discussions around examination reforms after repeated paper leak controversies, Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan announced today that the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test Undergraduate (NEET UG) will be conducted in a fully computer-based test (CBT) mode from next year. Experts believe that shifting NEET to a computer-based test system could improve transparency, security and efficiency in the exam process.
Unlike traditional pen-and-paper exams, a CBT mode exam is conducted on computers at designated centres where students answer questions digitally.
What is CBT exam?
In simple terms, a CBT test is an online exam conducted through a computer system instead of physical answer sheets. Candidates read questions on the screen and select answers using a mouse or keyboard.
