“We will continue to work in the direction of employment, development, and prosperity for the people here”: Minister A.K. Sharma
UTTAR PRADESH Urban Development and Energy Minister A.K. Sharma participated in an employment fair organized at Gandhi Ground in Madhuban (Mau). On this occasion, he distributed appointment letters to candidates selected through the employment fair and approval letters to beneficiaries selected under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Urban) 2.0.
Addressing the gathering, Minister Sharma said that this was the first time in the history of Madhuban that an employment fair had been organized. He described employment fairs as a powerful medium to make youth self-reliant and provide them with livelihood opportunities. He informed that there is a plan to develop the closed mill in Pardaha as an industrial cluster, which will generate large-scale employment opportunities at the local level.
The Minister said that through the Prime Minister Self-Employment Scheme, people can earn their livelihood. Under this scheme, around 700 people in the Madhuban area alone have already been provided assistance amounting to nearly ₹1.75 crore. He urged the youth of the region to take maximum benefit of this scheme. He also said that earlier global companies like Apple did not set up factories in India, but due to the leadership and efforts of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, manufacturing units are now being established at many Places, including Bengaluru. Minister Sharma congratulated all the selected candidates and wished them a bright future.
Speaking about the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Urban), Minister Sharma said that around 700 housing applications in the Madhuban area have been approved. Of these, funds have already been credited to the accounts of more than 80 beneficiaries and the remaining beneficiaries will also receive the amount soon. He clarified that these houses are a result of the governments led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and beneficiaries do not need to pay even a single rupee for this. All eligible people who do not have a house will certainly receive the benefit of this Scheme.
Highlighting improvements in the power sector, Minister Sharma said that the Electricity system in Madhuban has improved significantly. New power stations have been set up and the capacity of several substations has been enhanced. Appealing to people to take advantage of the Electricity Bill Relief Scheme, he said that a total of 918 camps were organized in Madhuban, benefiting 14,644 people and resulting in savings of about ₹25 crore. Across the entire Mau district, around 3,500 camps have been organized so far, through which about 5,500 consumers have received relief amounting to approximately ₹75 crore. He reiterated that the government will continue to work continuously towards employment, development and prosperity for the people of Madhuban and Mau.
At the employment fair, Minister Sharma distributed appointment letters to selected candidates including Preeti Kumari, Anshu Kumar, Ashok Kumar, Sunil Kumar Yadav, Anil Kumar, Roshan Kumar, Arjun Sonkar and Sunil Sonkar, among others. He also distributed approval letters to beneficiaries under the Pradhan Mantri Women Housing Scheme, including Girija Devi, Tetri, Ved Prakash Sahni, Madhuri Mamta, Tara Devi, Seema Maurya, Mahima Bharti and Others.
At the beginning of the program, Minister Sharma inspected stalls set up by various companies. Officials and representatives from several reputed companies participated in the employment fair, including Raya Healthcare Private Limited (Mau), Gatiman Agro Forestry Private Limited, Ashok Leyland (Rudrapur, Uttarakhand), JMR Private Limited, Yazaki Private Limited, Uttar Pradesh Transport Corporation (Mau), Peregrine Security Private Limited (Lucknow), among others.
Local public representatives, administrative officers, a large number of candidates, and local women were present on the occasion.
