Indian women’s cricket captain Harmanpreet Kaur has etched history onto her skin—literally. Days after leading India to their maiden Women’s Cricket World Cup victory, she revealed a symbolic new tattoo featuring the World Cup trophy, the numbers “52” and “2025,” and the words “Born to Lead.”
The tattoo commemorates not only India’s long-awaited triumph but also the 52-run victory margin that sealed the final against Australia in Sydney last week.
Symbol of pride and perseverance
In a heartfelt social media post, Harmanpreet wrote, “This isn’t just ink—it’s the story of every girl who refused to give up.” The image quickly went viral, drawing emotional reactions from fans and teammates. Many hailed it as a fitting tribute from a captain who inspired a generation of cricketers.
Her teammates, including Smriti Mandhana and Deepti Sharma, commented with heart emojis and called her gesture “goosebumps-worthy.”
A journey full of grit
Harmanpreet’s rise has been anything but easy. From training in Moga, Punjab, with limited facilities to leading India to a world title, her story resonates deeply with young athletes across the country. The tattoo, she says, is a constant reminder of how far the team — and Indian women’s cricket — has come.
National celebrations
Following India’s return from Australia, the team was greeted with a hero’s welcome at the Delhi airport. A felicitation ceremony is scheduled at Rashtrapati Bhavan, where Prime Minister Narendra Modi will honor the team for their achievement in advancing women’s sports in India.harmanpreet-kaur-world-cup-tattoo-story
