Urban Development and Energy Minister A.K. Sharma Held a Review Meeting with Officials of Urban Development and Energy Departments at Circuit House Auditorium (Ayodhya)
Lucknow: As per his scheduled program, Urban Development and Energy Minister A.K. Sharma visited Ayodhya today. Upon arrival, he held a review meeting with officials of the Urban Development and Energy Departments at the Circuit House Auditorium.
During the meeting Sharma directed officials of the Urban Development Department to ensure high-quality construction of internal roads and lanes in urban areas and instructed them to send proposals to the government for budget allocation related to these works. The Municipal Commissioner apprised the Minister of the ongoing work related to the construction of lanes.
In the review of the Energy Department, detailed discussions were held on the status of power supply, maintenance of street lights, progress of new electricity projects and energy conservation schemes. Sharma instructed officials to ensure uninterrupted power supply to urban residents and to take immediate corrective measures in areas facing frequent power interruptions. He also directed that electric poles located in the middle of widened roads be relocated immediately and that the replacement of open wires with underground cables in rural areas be expedited. The Energy Minister emphasized that fallen poles and damaged transformers during storms and rains should be repaired promptly within a set timeframe.
While reviewing the Urban Development Department, Sharma assessed the progress of ongoing development schemes, strengthening of basic civic amenities in urban bodies, cleanliness drives, smart city projects and infrastructure development. He directed that all development projects be completed on time and with high quality.
He also stressed that the functioning of urban local bodies should be made more transparent and accountable to ensure direct benefits to the public. The Minister further instructed officials to make proper arrangements for water drainage in urban areas.
Sharma stated that the state government objective is to provide every citizen with better urban facilities, a clean environment and easy access to services. He emphasized the need for regular monitoring of all schemes and strict action against any negligence in work.
After the meeting, the Minister initiated the distribution of electrical safety kits to electricity workers to ensure their safety and well-being.
On this occasion MLA of Rudauli Ram Chandra Yadav, Municipal Commissioner Jayendra Kumar, BJP District President Sanjeev Singh along with other public representatives and departmental officials, were present.
