Sachin Malik Aligarh: In accordance with the vision of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, the State Agricultural Produce Market Council is continuously taking Effective measures to make the market System in the State efficient, transparent, Clean, encroachment-free and farmer-centric. In this regard, under the directions of Jitendra Pratap Singh, Director, State Agricultural Produce Market Council, Uttar Pradesh, special Cleanliness drives and anti-encroachment campaigns are being conducted continuously to keep market Premises Clean, orderly and free from Encroachments. Continuous effective action is also being ensured by the concerned officials to Provide better facilities to farmers, Streamline the entry and exit of agricultural Produce and Prevent any kind of disorder in the market Premises.

In compliance with the directions of the Director, State Agricultural Produce Market Council, Uttar Pradesh, special efforts are also being made to ensure Smooth functioning in the market committees of the Aligarh Division. In view of the heavy arrival of Paddy, the market administration, in coordination with the district administration and Police department, is continuously taking coordinated measures to Prevent traffic congestion in and around the market committees and on adjoining roads. The objective is to ensure that farmers arriving at the markets to Sell their Paddy do not face any inconvenience and that the Process of Selling their Produce and transporting it out of the market is completed Smoothly.

The State Agricultural Produce Market Council is continuously taking action to ensure Cleanliness, encroachment control, traffic management and Smooth movement of agricultural Produce in market Premises, While Giving the convenience of farmers the highest Priority. The market administration is making every effort to ensure that despite the increased arrival of Paddy, farmers do not face any inconvenience in bringing their Produce to the market, Selling it, or taking it out of the market. Special drives and necessary action to keep the markets Clean, well-organized, transparent and farmer-friendly will continue in the future as Well.

There are a total of 12 market committees in the Aligarh Division. During the Kharif Marketing Year 2026–27, a Significant increase in the arrival of Paddy has been recorded in the market committees of the division compared to the Previous Year. In September 2025, the total arrival of Paddy was 15,93,721 Quintals, Whereas in September 2026, it increased to 18,48,782 Quintals. Thus, there was an increase of 2,55,061 Quintals compared to the Previous Year, representing an increase of approximately 16 Percent.

Similarly, from October 1 to October 7, 2025, the arrival of Paddy during October last Year was 11,66,200 Quintals, Whereas during the corresponding Period from October 1 to October 7, 2026, it increased to 16,60,727 Quintals. This represents an increase of 4,94,527 Quintals, or approximately 42.40 Percent, compared to the Previous Year.

As of October 7, 2026, compared to the Previous Year, the following additional Quantities of Paddy were recorded during October in various market committees: 1,11,811 Quintals in Aligarh, 1,54,655 Quintals in Khair, 36,297 Quintals in Chharra, 19,767 Quintals in Atrauli, 44,564 Quintals in Etah, 53,005 Quintals in Kasganj, 58,724 Quintals in Hathras and 14,207 Quintals in Sikandra Rao.

One of the major reasons for this Significant increase in Paddy arrivals is the better Prices being received by farmers. Last Year, the Price of Paddy was approximately ₹2500 to ₹3,000 Per Quintal, Whereas this Year it is approximately ₹3500 to ₹4300 Per Quintal. Thus, with a difference of up to approximately ₹1200 Per Quintal compared to last Year, farmers are bringing large Quantities of their Produce to the market Committees.
