The government goal is to provide relief to the maximum number of people: Minister A.K. Sharma
Sachin Lucknow: Urban Development and Energy Minister A.K. Sharma has taken an important decision, providing consumers with another significant relief under the Electricity Bill Relief Scheme. Previously, consumers who had made partial payments after March 31, 2025 were excluded from the scheme, preventing many consumers from taking advantage of the scheme. During his visits to various districts and inspections of electricity bill relief camps, several consumers requested Minister Sharma that they had made some payments in the months of April, May and June, but still had significant outstanding dues and therefore, they should also be given the benefits of the scheme.
Understanding the pain and real situation of consumers, Energy Minister A.K. Sharma, with utmost sensitivity, immediately instructed officials to ensure that all such consumers were not deprived of the scheme benefits. He clearly stated that the government’s objective is to provide relief to the maximum number of people, therefore, consumers who have already paid but still have outstanding dues should benefit from the scheme. Following the Energy Minister’s instructions, all consumers who have paid by November 30, 2025 have now been included in the Electricity Bill Relief Scheme. This decision will directly benefit a large number of consumers and significantly reduce their financial burden. Consumers across the state expressed their gratitude to Energy Minister A.K. Sharma for this important decision taken in the public interest, stating that he truly understood the public plight and made a meaningful effort to provide relief. This step taken by the government is a clear example of consumer welfare and sensitive administration.
