New Delhi: Production designer Saini S Johray was recently arrested in a sexual harassment case in Chandigarh. Now, sources confirm that the production designer was found guilty by an internal POSH committee months before his arrest. India Today has learnt that his credit was thus removed from Dhurandhar 2 after the investigation, and also from the latest digital version of Dhurandhar.
As per sources, Aditya Dhar’s B62 Studios conducted a six-month inquiry into allegations against Johray after receiving a complaint from the woman last year in October. The team immediately inducted an internal Prevention of Sexual Harassment (POSH) committee, which spoke to the concerned parties. Earlier this year, after a detailed inquiry, the investigation found him guilty of the charges.
Following the official protocol, his credit was duly removed from Dhurandhar 2, which released on March 19. While his name appears in Dhurandhar’s theatrical and original OTT version, he is not mentioned in the credits of the Raw and Undekha version, which dropped last week on Netflix and JioHotstar.
On May 26, Chandigarh Police registered an FIR against Saini S Johray following a sexual harassment complaint filed by a woman at the Sector-17 police station.
YRF drops Pratik Shah’s name from Akka credits
The development comes amid a wider conversation in the entertainment industry over accountability and workplace conduct. The Hollywood Reporter India also reported that Yash Raj Films has removed cinematographer Pratik Shah’s credit from its upcoming series Akka, after multiple women accused him of inappropriate behaviour.
In a statement to the publication, YRF said Shah had been engaged on the project as a freelancer and that the allegations surfaced only after his tenure on the show had ended. The studio added that, as an organisation committed to maintaining a safe working environment and a zero-tolerance approach towards misconduct, it had decided to remove his credit from the series. The report noted that Shah’s name had already been dropped from promotional material and would not appear in the final credits of the show.
For the unversed, allegations against Pratik Shah surfaced publicly last year after several women shared accounts on social media, accusing the cinematographer of predatory conduct, manipulation and professional misconduct.
