New Delhi: Superstar Rajinikanth‘s 173rd film, Dharman: The Deadly Doctor‘s first look has been released by the makers on Wednesday (June 24). Directed by Ashwath Marimuthu, who previously helmed Oh My Kadavule and Dragon, the film will go on the floors on June 25.
The film is produced by Kamal Haasan’s production banner, Raaj Kamal Films International.
Dharman: The Deadly Doctor first look out
In the first look of the film, Rajinikanth is seen as a deadly doctor with blood-soaked hands, holding a scalpel. He is seen stepping on a man who is lying dead on the bed.
The caption on the poster reads, “Dharmeme Vellum”, which loosely translates to “Justice will prevail”.

At the film’s launch, director Ashwath Marimuthu confirmed that Rajnikanth is essaying the role of a doctor. The film’s puja ceremony was held on Wednesday with the entire cast and crew in attendance.
About the film
The film went through several hurdles in its pre-production phase. In 2025, it was announced that director Sundar C would direct the film. However, after a few days of the announcement, he walked out of the film due to “unforeseen and unavoidable circumstances”.
Later, director Chakravarty took the director’s chair for the film, but after working on the film’s pre-production work, he also exited the film.
Apart from Rajinikanth, the film also stars Raashi Khanna and Simran. The film’s music is composed by Anirudh Ravichander.
Meanwhile, Rajinikanth was last seen in the 2025 film, Coolie.
